As an LA event photographer, we love capturing events with energy, emotion, and unexpected moments. This Secret Family Reunion with Club Ichi had all three. Held at the Luxe Sunset Hotel in Brentwood, the event brought together planners from across the country for a night of connection and surprise.

Club Ichi is a private networking community for event professionals. Each year, their Secret Family Reunion gives planners a chance to build relationships, share best practices, and connect with others who understand the industry. However, this gathering came with an especially exciting twist.

Attendees were about to learn the secret location for their offsite adventure.

The Big Reveal

Before the reveal, guests enjoyed food, drinks, and plenty of time to mingle. They also played a custom meet-and-greet bingo game, which helped spark conversations throughout the room. Meanwhile, a live stream connected the Brentwood gathering to the rest of the Club Ichi network.

The anticipation continued to build as guests waited for the announcement. No one knew where they would be traveling. Attendees had only received vague packing instructions about the climate and planned activities. Beyond that, the destination remained a complete surprise.

Finally, the moment arrived.

Through the live feed, Club Ichi announced that attendees would be flying to…..New Zealand! The room instantly erupted with laughter, cheers, screams of joy, and even a few tears. It was such a fun moment to photograph because every reaction felt real and unfiltered.

Meaningful Details and Sponsor SWAG

After the reveal, two Maori entertainers joined the event to share a brief presentation about New Zealand. They gave guests a glimpse into the culture, destination, and experiences waiting for them.

Then, the surprises continued. Attendees received incredible sponsor SWAG, including Cotopaxi backpacks and fanny packs, Goodr sunglasses, and Kashwere loungewear for the airport. Every detail added to the excitement of the adventure ahead.
