A Joyful First Day of School in Pasadena

There is something special about the first day of school. New classes, familiar faces, fresh routines, and plenty of excitement all come together at once.

Our team recently photographed a beautiful convocation ceremony at a private all-girls school in Pasadena. As a school event photographer Los Angeles team, we love capturing the moments that help a school community feel connected from day one.

The expansive outdoor campus made the perfect setting for a sunny summer morning. Students from grades 4 through 12 gathered together as school leadership officially welcomed everyone to the 2026 school year.

Celebrating a Community Built for Girls

One of our favorite parts of the morning was seeing a female-run school created to support and educate female students.

After the opening ceremony, the first day of classes officially began. We moved throughout campus and popped into classrooms to document students settling into the year.

There was plenty of learning, but also plenty of laughter.

Students worked together on team-building activities, met new classmates, reconnected with friends, and enjoyed those first-day moments that often become some of the most memorable.

What stood out most was the sense of community between the students.

We loved seeing girls from ages 9 to 17 encouraging one another, working together, and creating an environment that felt welcoming across grade levels. It was such a kind, energetic group of students to photograph.

Documenting More Than a Ceremony

School events are about more than what happens on stage.

The best images also show the personality of the campus, the relationships between students and faculty, and what everyday life at the school actually feels like.
