I had the privilege of photographing and participating in the Team Rubicon fundraiser at The Point in El Segundo. This beautiful outdoor shopping center provided the perfect setting for the community to come together in support of wildfire relief. Team Rubicon, a veteran-led humanitarian aid organization, works to deliver disaster relief where it is needed most. In response to the recent wildfires across Los Angeles, The Point organized this event to raise funds for families who lost their homes.
The Point’s grassy courtyard became a hub of energy. Families, children, and even dogs gathered for an afternoon filled with live music, family-friendly games, and local shopping. Vendors and participating stores donated a percentage of their sales to Team Rubicon. Attendees showed their support by shopping and enjoying the event’s activities.
The South Bay community came together in a powerful way. Parents and children played on the lawn. Shoppers explored handcrafted goods from local artisans. Neighbors connected over a shared mission to support wildfire victims. The atmosphere was filled with generosity and a strong sense of unity.
As a photographer, my goal was to capture the essence of the Team Rubicon fundraiser at The Point. I focused on candid moments that reflected joy, connection, and generosity. Families laughing, kids playing games, and vendors engaging with attendees created a meaningful visual story. Every image highlighted the resilience and compassion of this community.
Beyond taking photos, it was an honor to be part of this event. People didn’t just show up—they took action. They came together to provide relief, uplift each other, and make a real impact. The event wasn’t just about raising money. It was about creating hope for those affected by the fires.
The fundraiser was a success. It raised crucial funds for Team Rubicon’s wildfire relief efforts while strengthening community bonds. Families left with unique finds from local vendors and the knowledge that they had helped those in need. I am grateful to have captured these moments and to have participated in such an inspiring event!
