A Meaningful Day by the Beach

Santa Monica Fundraiser Photography always stands out at Annenberg Community Beach House. I love this venue for its beautiful ocean views, natural light, and easy beach access. This year, I had the chance to capture NephCure’s annual LA Walk + Patient Day fundraiser again! (For last year’s walk, check out our blog post HERE). NephCure is a nonprofit that supports people and families affected by rare kidney disorders. The event brought patients, loved ones, and supporters together for education, community, and a walk to raise awareness.

A Joyful and Supportive Community

While the cause is deeply personal, the feeling of the day was uplifting. It was amazing to see so much joy shared within such a tight-knit community. People traveled from near and far to be there. Patients of many ages and backgrounds came together, connected through a very rare and difficult experience. Rare diseases affect the whole family, not just the patient. Because of that, the day was planned with everyone in mind. There were games, family-friendly activities, and plenty of moments that felt warm, genuine, and full of heart.

Beach Walk That Brought Everyone Together

One of my favorite parts of this Santa Monica Fundraiser Photography event was the walk itself. Guests gathered by the water for a short speech celebrating NephCure’s accomplishments. Then came a group stretch, and the walk began. The group moved along the beachfront together, creating an energetic and powerful moment that drew attention from joggers and beachgoers. After the walk, kids enjoyed arts and crafts while adults connected in the expo area and learned about helpful resources.

Stories, Strength, and Connection

Later, adults attended a thoughtful panel discussion. They heard about new research, patient support, and family experiences. Outside, the kids took part in the Kidney Olympics. From pushups to plank contests, they brought amazing energy and determination. Their strength was inspiring. My favorite part– one of the boys in attendance really locked in! He was going for that gold!
