Insanely Beautiful Couple Photos | Crescent Moon Ranch Photography

How beautiful is Sedona, Arizona? I love that photography gets me traveling all over the world to explore new places to photograph. When you enter Sedona, you’re instantly struck by the red rock surrounding the area. It’s such a unique backdrop for photos, and one of the reasons why crescent moon ranch photography is so popular in the area.

Crescent Moon Ranch

Many couples choose to capture their engagement and wedding photos at crescent moon ranch for the different backdrops it offers. We started at the entrance to the park, which features the beautiful and iconic red rock background. At sunset, the backlit trees were a beautiful framing element!

Just a few meters away, we walked through a stunning meadow of native desert grasses. The sunlight at that time of day lit the grass up, almost making the meadow look like it was glowing. It created a beautiful foreground effect.

Passing through the meadow, we reached the creek. It was crystal clear and completely still, making an incredible mirror that allowed me to play with reflections. Coming from California’s oceans, it’s so rare to get to play with still, clear water and I jumped at the opportunity. You can see Cathedral Rock in the background if you look closely.

As the sun continued to set, Cathedral Rock turned a brilliant, fiery red. It was absolutely breathtaking to see such a vibrant color in nature. You definitely understand why Sedona used to be considered sacred land! There is something so magical about the red rock and mesas in the area.

We wrapped up the session with a little bit of romantic dancing as the sun went down. Most of the visitors had already left the area, so we had a perfect platform all to ourselves. The air cooled down as the sun dipped below the horizon and it was so, so romantic.

I loved that we captured both the intimate moments as well as the goofy, playful ones! I live for whimsy.
