Allyson Felix: Decorated Olympian and Female Advocate

Even if you don’t follow sports, you’ve probably heard of Allyson Felix. Allyson is an eleven-time Olympic medalist in track and field. On top of her 7 gold medals, 3 silver, and 1 bronze, Allyson is a trail blazer for female equity in the world of sports. Her accomplishments include pushing the industry to expand maternal policy for pregnant athletes. She is the most decorated female athlete of all time in track and field. On top of that, she started her own shoe company.

Always Alpha

Allyson’s most recent success has been founding Always Alpha, a talent management company for women’s sports. Who better than this female pioneer?

I was privileged to have the opportunity to capture the Always Alpha launch party at the San Vicente Bungalows to kick off the beginning of this wonderful company.

Party time at the San Vicente Bungalows

Guests joined Allyson and her all-female Always Alpha team to celebrate the evening with good food, drinks, and lots of laughter. The team’s close friends and family members finally had the opportunity to celebrate the company and for many of them, to meet Allyson in person for the first time!

This party was small and intimate, and every guest in attendance had close ties to the AA team. I loved that the intimate venue and guest list allowed for small group conversations. Guests had the opportunity to chat with Allyson and learn more about her journey to Always Alpha.

Protections for female athletes

Allyson’s achievements are so impressive. Her dedication to changing policy for pregnant athletes and new mothers has set so many new precedents for female athletes and sponsorship protections. Thanks to Allyson, athletes don’t have to choose between their careers and motherhood, or do what she did–hide her pregnancy and live in fear for nine months.
