Our team recently had the joy of working on a Dodger Stadium Event Photography project that combined baseball nostalgia with movie magic. This event was part of Dodger Stadium’s beloved Movie Nights series, a family-friendly tradition open to the public. Guests of all ages gathered on the iconic field, spreading out blankets, enjoying Dodger Dogs, and preparing for a night under the stars.
This time, the featured film was the legendary baseball classic, The Sandlot. The choice was perfect for the venue, drawing fans who grew up on the movie as well as kids experiencing it for the first time. The atmosphere was warm and full of excitement, with families and friends ready to enjoy an evening of baseball-themed fun.
Before the movie began, guests had the opportunity to explore several activations. S’mores stations, set up in honor of the movie, filled the air with the scent of toasted marshmallows. Fans lined up for Dodger Dogs, popcorn, and sweet treats. On the field, guests tested their skills at a pitching practice station and explored a VR screen that gave them a unique, immersive experience. They could also take a tour of the historic venue– including the MLB Commissioner’s trophy from the World Series!
The biggest surprise of the night was a visit from Chauncey Leopardi, known to fans as Squints. When he walked onto the field, the crowd erupted with cheers. After a quick interview, he stayed to sign baseballs, Dodger hats, and “You’re Killing Me Smalls” T-shirts. He also posed for countless photos with fans, making the evening even more memorable.
As the sun set and the stadium lights dimmed, the film began. Laughter and cheers echoed across the field as The Sandlot played on the big screen. It was a beautiful reminder of how beloved this movie remains across generations. Capturing the smiles, the nostalgia, and the joy of the night made this Dodger Stadium Event Photography assignment one to remember. Are you looking to capture your next event at Dodger Stadium? Let’s get in touch.
