A Fun Pre-Conference Shoot in Long Beach
The Hyatt Long Beach Conference created the perfect backdrop for this playful and memorable portrait session. Before a major international sex conference began, I had the chance to photograph two gynecologists who had traveled in to connect with medical professionals from around the world. Their focus was women’s sexual health, education, and honest conversation. Right away, their energy made this session stand out. They were smart, funny, confident, and fully open to creating images that felt both professional and true to their personalities.
Bringing Education and Personality Together
What made this shoot especially fun was the fact that they brought their anatomically correct vagina puppets along with them. These props help them educate audiences in an engaging and approachable way. Instead of hiding that side of their work, they wanted to celebrate it. I loved that choice. It gave the session a bold and memorable twist. We captured polished headshots, but we also made room for portraits that felt lighter, sillier, and much more personal. That balance made the gallery feel fresh and authentic.
Meet the Women Behind Labia Logic
These two badass women also run a sexual health and wellness podcast for women called Labia Logic. Their work centers on education, empowerment, and removing shame from important conversations about women’s bodies and sexual wellness. Because of that, it felt important for their portraits to show not only their expertise, but also their warmth and humor. During this Hyatt Long Beach Conference session, we walked around the property, found great pockets of light, and created images that reflected both their credibility and their chemistry as a team.
A Session That Kept Getting Better
One of my favorite parts of the shoot came when they agreed to hop on the swan boats. That playful moment took the session to another level. It added movement, spontaneity, and so much personality to the final images. Those photos captured the fun side of their brand in such a natural way.
